Prepare your Cub Scout for an electrifying "Let it Glow" weekend, where the night comes alive with glow-in-the-dark games and activities for scouts and leaders. This unique event, hosted by the Alamo Area Council at the McGimsey Scout Park, promises and adventure like no other. Experience skill-building and friendship under a canopy of stars, with every activity shining bring in the theme of "Let it Glow."
With this registration, participants will receive a glow-in-the-dark t-shirt to wear during our nighttime activities Saturday night. All meals are included in registration. Registration fees go to 3 meals, a night snack, t-shirt, and program supplies.
Units will come in around 2 pm, set up their campsites, and then the fun begins around 3:30pm. Don't miss out on the this opportunity to glow with your pack at our Let it Glow weekend.

Due to the number of people attending-- spots are limited to blacklight shooting sports is limited.
MINIMUM REGISTRATION REQUIREMENT - We must have 100 participants registered by October 9th in order to hold this event. If we do not have 100 participants by then we will cancel and refund the registration fees. If we get the minimum required participants by October 9th we will extend registration for others to join. Register Early!
We are looking for volunteers to help staff this event (program and kitchen help). Please reach out to Adventure@alamoareabsa.org to volunteer to help make this event awesome. Volunteers must be approved and registered by October 20th in order to attend the required training. If you are a volunteer for this event you will attend at no cost and you may have a scout who is a member of your family attend for FREE. You must be a full part of our staff, including attending staff training which will be held on Wednesday, October 30th from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at McGimsey Scout Park (10810 Wedgewood, San Antonio, TX 78213)

THIS IS NOT AN INDIVIDUAL EVENT, THIS EVENT IS DESIGNED FOR UNITS TO ATTEND. Unit Leadership will be required to supervise the scouts in attendance, meeting all 2 deep leadership requirements and additional ratios required. Please follow this excerpt from the Barriers to Abuse in the Guide to Safe Scouting for what is required:
[(Effective September 1, 2023) Two registered adult leaders 21 years of age or over are required at all Scouting activities, including all meetings. There must be a registered female adult leader 21 years of age or over in every unit serving females. A registered female adult leader 21 years of age or over must be present for any activity involving female youth or female adult program participants.
Notwithstanding the minimum leader requirements, age and program-appropriate supervision must always be provided.
