This hands-on course provides adult leaders the practical outdoor skills they need to lead Scouts in the out-of-doors. Upon completion, leaders should feel comfortable teaching Scouts the basic skills required for the First Class rank. Along with Scoutmaster Specifics this course is required of all direct contact leaders registered in Scout Troops and Teams, in order to be considered "trained".

Welcome to IOLS! This course is for ADULT leaders interested in strengthening their camping skills and/or registering as an assistant scoutmaster or scoutmaster.

Check-in is at 6pm at the Alamo Pavillion near Campsite 4 on McGimsey Scout Park.

Food: Please eat dinner before arriving at camp. Breakfast and lunch are provided on Saturday.

What to bring: Participants will need to bring a tent, sleeping gear, mess kit, water bottle, raingear, and personal items for camp. Cooking gear will be provided by the course. Participants will also need to provide a BSA health form Parts A&B.

What to wear: Participants should arrive in their field uniform with and scout activity shirt underneath.

A welcome letter with more information will be sent the week of the course.
